John Piper smackdown

On a blog I read A LOT (Stuff Christians Like) the author posted a video of John Piper talking about the prosperity gospel. He essentially rips a hole as big as Texas through a mentality that exists in churches all across this country. It stirs up in me all the things I feel when I read anything by McManus, or Paul, or well you get the idea. It gives understanding to why my insides start screaming whenever I see Joel Osteen preaching in front of that giant spinning globe.

Whenever I imagine him there I picture him singing “I’ve got the whole world in my hands, I’ve got the whole world in my hands” with that frosty little smile he totes with his “God just wants you to be happy” message.

How like Satan to use a partial truth to pull us from his real intent for our lives. But I’m rambling now, listen to Piper and then right below listen to Osteen tell Larry about the “gospel.”
